Hi Rob
Have you tried some of the insurance companies on the site ? The latest one I put on there said it would meet every challenge ...... Travelbility - give them a go. Under FAQs ...

You are here
Travel Insurance - Rob
Rob - if Travelbility doesn't come up trumps, try Age Concern - you do not need to be old for them. We have annual multi-trip insurance with them. They covered CML after a sensible medical screening telephone call.
Good luck.
David
Hello all,
I got an annual policy worldwide including skiing for £85.00 with Age Concern, although there is a £1000 excess for anything related to CML and £50 for everything else. At least I know if the worst was to happen I could get my credit card out and everything would be covered. I got a quote off of the post office and they quoted £350 with a £100 excess so I weighed up my options and went for the cheaper one.
I hope this helps,
Martyn
So it would see
that there was 2 things working against me
1. travelling to the States
2. looking for annual travel cover
however after a good chat with Freedom, I can get a single trip cover for £700, now just to decide if it is worth the risk or not...
apparently Canada and the Carribean would also be tough to get insurance
he also mentioned that possibly my 6 weekly check up routine isn't helping either, but mainly the first 2 :)
thanks for all the recommendations

Hi Rob,
I have mentioned earlier that I was offered a Nat West Advantage Gold account which is a current account with added options of travel insurance.
I was asked 4 questions by the travel insurance team and have been accepted worldwide in writing for a cost of £12 per month for the current account. There are also other benefits of that account such as identity fraud protection and mobile phone insurance.
The £12 is for both Carol and myself.
It has been worth opening the account just for the travel insurance.
Hope you have some luck.

Hi Steven
I have one of these accounts as well, and took your advice a few months ago to get a letter in writing from them. However - I'm not sure if you are aware but the terms and conditions have recently changed {April] with regard to pre-existing health conditions. My memory is a bit unclear without checking the details but I have a feeling that unless you booked your holiday before 22nd April, CML will not be covered. It would be worth checking with them I think.
If you find out I'm wrong on this one, please do post again and let me know!
Best wishes, Janet
I was diagnosed in 2003 and for the last 2 years had annual cover with JD Consultants, underwritten by Fortis insurance.
This year however, Fortis revoked the cover and would not cover CML as as it was 4 years post diagnosis, I was now entering a very grey area!!Despite my PCR being undetectable now for a year.
I then found Snowcard .co.uk on this site and got insurance with them- annual insurance for Europe ( no skiing!!- as if!!) for 2 people cost me 62.00 including cml. tel 01327 262805
Incredibly when the insurance certificate arrived it is underwritten by Fortis insurance and exactly the same form as I had previoously with JD Consultants.
I too wonder whether it si worth tellin gthese people as most of them haven't a clue!!!
happy holidays
