For a few days I've had an unpleasant metallic/bitter taste in my mouth. After eight months on Glivec, I thought I'd probably come across most of the side effects I was going to encounter: but this one is new. If, indeed, it IS a side effect (no mention of it in the Glivec leaflet), I wonder if anyone out there has had a similar experience.
If so, does the horrible taste go away? Most Glivec side effects seem to come and go in waves. I'm hoping this is just such a passing phase!
For the record, it has coincided with another, new phase of mental and physical inertia. 'Don't care.' 'Couldn't be bothered' etc etc.
When I was first put on Glivec, my doc said that the side effects were usually worse at first, declining as time went by. I suppose I assumed that once the cramps/diarrhoea/sickness were out of the way, although they would return from time to time, I wouldn't have new side effects.
I'd be grateful to hear people's experiences. Do new side effects occur further down the line? And, more important, do they go away?!
Thanks.
Diana
Just got CCR, and blood details look OK, but can't make myself feel remotely upbeat.
