CML care with Wheat Grass and Yoga

Hello All,

I was diagnosed with CML around 2 years and 3 months and I have already received 2 reports with Not Detected till now. I am on Imatinib 400 for now.

To support my medicine for CML, I have been taking 30 ml shots of fresh wheat grass juice and breathing exercise using yoga from 3rd month after starting Imatinib. It initially took me 6 months to get use to it and my reports to show the changes, but I am glad these support stuff have been adding to the overall care.

During the recent lockdown, I stopped the wheat grass juice and I could see the impact of the same on the blood count. Restarting the same bought back my readings to normal.

I am currently using wheat grass powder available locally by many vendors.

Not sure if anyone of u guys have tried or have been using any of these as supports.

I started practicing mindfulness meditation when I was diagnosed and it’s changed my life. The form where you focus on your breathe. Been doing it for 3 years pretty much daily and boy has it made the struggles of life so much easier.

I believe I’ve mentioned it before but it’s meant to strengthen Telomeres (the ends of our chromosomes) from some research they did on monks.(not the reason I meditate but interesting all the same) I’ve never been one to be into all that hocus pocus stuff but I can tell you mentally I am a different person for the most of time. And when I am not I meditate.

I often think I got CML from persistent stress. When I say persistent I am talking 20-30 years of issues/problems and worries. When I saw my therapist and told her about my life her exact words were “I am not surprised you got ill”. Maybe too much cortisol weakens your dna who knows. In fact I think that’s a given.
