Anybody taking generic Nilotinib

This month I was informed that my healthcare provider will start using generic Nilotinib. To be honest I didn’t think the generic was going to be yavailable until sometime near the end of the decade. They gave me a reprieve and still filled the brand order but the generic is coming for me at least. Has anyone been prescribed the generic for Nilotinib? If so could you please share your perspective?

Thanks,
JP

Hi Joe

I've been on tasigna now for almost 8 years and just received a generic version for the first time today.

Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. I do know there isn't complete consistency across brands of any meds, I've experienced this first hand on Sertraline (anti d). I will report how it goes and how I feel.

Ya my insurance is starting to roll out the generic too. I’ll be on it probably by the end of the year if not sooner.
My experience with generic Imatinib is that not all generics are the same.
Also I don’t think they are as effective as the real McCoy or brand version.
The Rx companies don’t make it easy for the generic companies to make a quality product.
They don’t share info.

Be ready for some changes.
On the bright side at least it will be cheaper. In this day and age I am leery of all these astronomical prices.
Not sure how it is on your side of the pond but here in the US it’s downright scary.

Let us know if you experience anything out of the ordinary with the generic.
I’ll do the same once I’m on it.

Cheers,
JP

Thanks Joe

I'll keep you posted I have a feeling the change is going to be rough. And like you I am convinced they're not as good as the real McCoy as they say.

Let's hope I don't loose response and/or get worse symptoms lol
