Massive Spike in Liver Enzymes

Morning,

Please can someone share their experience? I’ve been on Imatinib 20 months now, LFT’s have always been good with my value usually sitting at around 40 for my ALT enzyme. I had my bloods in February and consultant called to say I needed to stop my Imatinib immediately as my ALT was 380, he repeated LFT a week after and it had rose again to 420, three days later 455. I am having meltdowns now and scared to have a scan as I am turning yellow, wee is dark and everything is pointing to Pancreatic Cancer for these results. I’ve basically refused everything the hospital has to offer as I’m too scared to hear the words ‘you’re going to die Carla’ I know this may sound ridiculous, boyfriend has basically washed his hands of me for being ‘selfish’ but I am in so much of a panic I can’t leave the house. When I was diagnosed with CML it was basically a routine test as the GP thought I had anaemia. I’m asking here if anyone else has had such a negative reaction so late on after the start of the treatment?

Carla I am like you but do try not to let your thoughts get the best of you if you can. Stay focused for problem solving. Do what you can. Look at all of your intake and analyze its effect on the liver. Just drink water and nothing else. Move, try not to linger in place. Eat fresh, no processed foods. Don’t waste your time thinking negative, and I know how hard that can be. Live in the moment. Work through the maze, you’ll get through it.
This is all the minimum but it could help.

Good luck and stay positive.

Hi, this has happened to me skin and eyes went yellow got painful trapped wind in my chest ,nothing to do with meds or CML in my case .Had ultrasound and found I had lots of stones in my liver had to have two procedures to remove them.I was sedated so didn’t feel anything .Then docs decided it would be best to remove my gallbladder aswell which I had done a few months later .I am not saying this is what’s happening to you but please don’t ignore it and go to your doctor and ask for tests .Any questions please ask .Take care ,Denise.
