Asciminib

Categories:

So I'm being switched to Asciminib from 20mg Dasatinib which got me to undetected within 4 months. Originally on imatinib for 2 months and then had to quit because of liver toxicity. I tried TRF after 3 years because of side effects and was consistent for undetected but my latest blood work was .0541 and my DR wants me back on drug and switch to Asciminib. After meeting with PA about side effects I'm scared to death. I've read some on here have good results. Just reaching out about experience with side effects anyone is having. By the way she is starting me at 20mg because I react to anything they seem to give me. Thanks

I have been on asciminib 40 mg for 4 months+.
after being off dasatinib med for 5 weeks due to facial allergy, I started asciminib. my bcr/abl on asciminib went from 0.3% to 0.0007% over 3 months. I have my pancreatic enzymes{lipase and amylase} checked regularly. every 2 weeks to start, then monthly, then every 3 months. I've had no physical side effects that prevent me from doing what I need to do. I have started all 3 of my meds at lo-dose so that I could live my life.
no need to reply. I'll gladly answer a question.

Ann, do you know why you are being switched from a TKI that worked for you? I also was unable to maintain TFR for more than 3 months, but I went back on 150mg Tasigna once a day and quickly regained undetected status. Unless you were miserable on dasatinib I would want to stay on it, it worked and at a low dose for you. My opinion.

I started having heart rhythm problems that went away as soon as I quit it. The other side effects I was dealing with although I did end up with a stroke which I had no idea I had and they found it when they did an mri checking why one ear seem to have such ringing and the other one didn't.
