Should I avoid anti-oxidants while taking Scemblix?

Hi, I've recently switched from Imatinib to Scemblix (80 mg day) and am wondering if Scemblix works through ROS (reactive oxygen species) activity the way Imatinib does. When I began taking Imatinib more than 4 years go, I saw some research indicating potential reduced efficacy with Imatinib if you take anti-oxidant supplements or eat too many anti-oxidant-rich foods, but I can't find any research on ROS and Scemblix online. I asked my dr. but he was not certain, so I called the manufacturer (Novartis) but they only give that info peer to peer (to another medical professional), so I circled back to my drs. office to ask someone to call Novartis, but so far I have not heard back.

Has anyone seen any info about this? I'd love to add anti-oxidants back into my diet/list of supplements, but hesitate due to not having clarity on this topic. Thanks in advance, Ann

please excuse my 1-finger typing.
i take my supplements while on scemblix. I took supplements while on imatinib and dasatinib. I believe some docs and online advisors will agree and some will disagree as to whether the supplements help.
I take the supplements to prevent side effects from the tki's. i've seen literature that states some of my supplements help with the bcr/abl numbers. I tend to agree, based on my PCR tests on low dose tki's.
there is a "Drug Interaction Checker" on drugs.com to help with your decision.

Thank you! I completely agree that supplements help, both in reducing side effects and with the bcr/abl numbers. I take milk thistle, selenium, zinc, vitamin K, Vitamin E, and a multi-B vitamin. I appreciate your reply- this morning I heard back from my doctor's office and I don't need to avoid anti-oxidants on Scemblix, which is a big relief. I will take a look at the drug interaction checker on drugs.com.

the liver enzyme cyp3a4 breaks down various tki's.
I look up to see if my supplements{anti-oxidants/vitamins/herbs} slow or speed up the tki breakdown. and decide what to do,and, of course, the oncologist knows of my supplements.
I take about 50 different supplements each day for energy, calming purposes, preventive purposes {ex.,migraines, family history diabetes}. I took most of the supplements before the CML diagnosis. I am an old man,fit for my age, on no script besides the tki's i've taken in the past 3 years.. so I believe my supplements help.
no reply is necessary. I would answer your questions.

Thank you for this explanation. I am 68 and other than the CML (diagnosed in 2021) I had no health issues (except chemical sensitivity to certain substances, such as paint/varnishes, and new carpet/padding).

Other than Scemblix I only take Levothyroxine in the smallest dose due to the impact of TKI's on the thyroid. I won't ask you to list all of those supplements but I wholeheartedly agree that they are both supportive and preventative, and a very good idea to include in one's daily regimen. Blessings to you on your healing journey, and many thanks again.
